Re-Engaging Inactive Members - Addendum

Written by Paul Cameron on . Posted in Private

After posting our recent article and video about the 3 ideas we will be trying to re-engage with our inactive members, we received correspondence from all over the world, literally, with more ideas! So I just wanted to share them with you here and ask that if you have more, let us know and we'll try those too.

First, our 3 ideas were: 1, continue active communication with former members through email; 2, request they help with degrees; 3, visit lodges near them and meet them there.

Here's the new stuff we learned:

A Checklist for Grand Lodge

Written by Paul Cameron on . Posted in Private

This is the addendum for our "Lessons From Grand Lodge" post with the Checklist to help you prepare for next year. From our experience at our first Grand Lodge meeting, we made lots of mistakes, and had several successes as well. To make sure we don't make the same mistakes again, while keeping an eye on new opportunities to improve, we created a checklist that we will be using next year before the Grand Lodge meeting which we will share with all our members who will be making the trip.

Best Practices

Last Updated: 4/12/18 This will be an ongoing post that will be regularly updated as we learn new best practices. We hope to establish routine of sharing and learning new Best Practices from every lodge member we meet so as THEY learn new Best Practices from other lodges, they will share them with us and we will continue to update this list. Over time, as more and more lodges are involved, this list should grow faster and faster.

Essential Questions - Addendum with 61 Question Tool

Written by Paul Cameron on . Posted in Private

This is the addendum to the Post about Essential Questions to Ask Your Members. In the post and video, we list out 15 or 20 you can ask your members, however we use a more complete list of 62 questions.

As discussed in that post, you don't have to get them all in one conversation. The idea is to continue getting together and add more and more as you go. By having 61 questions to answer about every member, you can get together and just get 3 or 5 or 7 of them answered at one time.

Preparations While Dark - Addendum

Written by Paul Cameron on . Posted in Private

This is the addendum to the Blog about how to prepare for the upcoming Masonic year while your lodge is dark.

The first idea was about starting a public blog of your own. Although our first post was fairly long, in general, 600 to 800 words should be your cap, per post. Also, it's important to add images, not so much to help you make a point, more so because it makes the post extend down longer. If the reader can get through the post faster, and feel like they are skimming even though they are actually reading it, they will enjoy the post more.
